Delgado Construction CEO donates $3 million to local charity
(EXAMPLE, Texas – Sept. 10, 2024) Delgado Construction CEO Charles Delgado donated $3 million to Hope for Homes before his retirement. Hope for Homes is a charity that repairs homes for low-income families in Texas.
"I strive to build a company that not only provides a reliable service, but also cares for the community,” said Charles Delgado. “I am honored to aid Hope for Homes to achieve their mission.”
In addition to the donation, company employees will volunteer 1,400 hours to help Hope for Homes.
Delgado also has worked with the Catholic Diocese of Dallas to give food and other necessities to families. And he has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships so students can attend trade schools.
Charles Delgado plans to retire from his position as CEO at 90 years old. His grandson, Javier Delgado, will take his place next month.
"This company is my heart, and I am proud of my grandson," said Charles Delgado. "Javier will carry this company to new heights."
Delgado grew up in Example, Texas; however the homes and apartments he lived in as a child often lacked running water and heat. Because of his upbringing in poor housing, Charles Delgado spent his life committed to expanding opportunities for disadvantaged people in Dallas.
