Lando Norris Ends Max Verstappen’s 3-0 Home Record with Dutch Grand Prix win by 22 Seconds
ZANDVOORT, Netherlands – McLaren driver Lando Norris secured a dominant Dutch Grand Prix victory with a 22-second lead against Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.
During qualifying, Norris secured pole position, while Verstappen came second.
The Dutch Grand Prix started with an instant takeover from Verstappen as he took the lead into the first corner. Verstappen led for 17 laps until Norris reclaimed first place on the 18th lap. Norris remained steady for the remaining 54 laps.
Norris won with the biggest winning margin of 22.896 seconds this season, took Driver of the Day award and snuck in the fastest lap award on his final lap.
“I wouldn’t say a perfect race because of lap one again, but afterwards it was beautiful,” Norris said at the post-race conference.

Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner told Sky Sports F1 McLaren’s car was “in a different league” on Zandvoort.
“We did everything we could,” said Horner. “Max converted P2 into a lead, but you can see their pace was in a different league.”
Verstappen was beaten at his home race for the first time. Norris gained 26 points from this race, but Verstappen remains 70 points ahead in the drivers’ championship.
Meanwhile, in the Constructors' Championship, Red Bull is under increasing pressure from McLaren’s upgrade packages. After Zandvoort, McLaren cut the point gap to 30 points after Norris’ win and Oscar Piastri’s fourth placement.
Red Bull knows they have work to do to stay competitive.
Verstappen finished second and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc came third after holding off McLaren’s Piastri.
The next race will be in Ferrari’s home domain at the Temple of Speed in Monza, Italy on Sept. 1.
